On a burger and fries night, you cannot miss a good barbecue sauce. It is super easy to make even at home, much tastier and more wholesome than commercial sauces, and most importantly, preservative-free.

Barbecue sauce

  • 300 g of tomato paste
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • half onion
  • 30 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup MapleFarm Pure Maple Syrup – Very Dark
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt
  • chili

  • Pour the tomato paste with the garlic and onion into a saucepan and stir well.
  • Bring to temperature, and when vegetables begin to be browned, deglaze with water and vinegar.
  • Remove garlic and add mustard, soy sauce, smoked paprika and continue cooking for 10 minutes.
  • To serve a creamy and more flavorful sauce, you can choose to blend it with a few pieces of the onion used in cooking or remove all the onion if you prefer a milder taste.
  • At the end of cooking, add maple syrup to make the sauce highly polished and adjust the salt and hot pepper.
  • Let cool and use to lacquer meat in your grills or to flavor delicious burgers.
