Kombucha with maple syrup

Ingredients

  • 2l water
  • 150 ml of MapleFarm Pure Maple Syrup – BIO Dark
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 1 kombucha scoby
  • 200 ml kombucha (liquid starter)

    For garnish:
  • strawberries and mint
  • lemon and basil
  • blueberries and rosemary

Instructions

  • Bring 2L of water to a boil with the maple syrup.
  • Turn off the heat and steep the tea bags and wait until the liquid is at room temperature.
  • Transfer the mixture to a sterilized large glass jar.
  • Pour the starter liquid, insert the scoby and cover the jar with a clean cloth, securing it with string.
  • Leave the jar to ferment for 6 to 8 days, out of direct sunlight.
  • After the fermentation period has elapsed, remove the scoby and decant the kombucha, then serve with ice, fresh fruit and herbs.
